The successful applicant(s) will work alongside an aXcess team and their national church partner to help train church workers in the management and operation of an established non-governmental organization (NGO). This will include the expansion of existing programs and donor base. This is an excellent opportunity for people with proven experience successfully managing a for-profit business or non-profit organization to make a Kingdom difference.

  • Train national church workers in management and operation of an existing NGO
  • Enhance existing donor relationships and help establish new ones
  • Build relationships with local Christians and national families using the programs of the NGO
  • Work closely with the local board of NGO for full compliance with government regulations

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree
  • Completion of Alliance Polity course
  • Completion of the World Perspectives Mission Course (minimum of certificate level) or equivalent
  • A minimum Modern Language Aptitude Test (MLAT) score of 50
  • A recognized bachelor’s degree
  • Background in successful business management including management of personnel
  • Ability to raise funds for self-support and operation of NGO

Timeline for Deployment:

Summer/fall of 2024. Following appointment, and once fundraising goals and other qualifications are met, the appointee is required to attend a cross-cultural and language-acquisition program and pre-field orientation prior to deploying.

General Information:

This is a two-year commitment with entrance into the country based on a volunteer visa provided by the government. Anything longer would require having a clergy visa, which would include needing to be ordained by the C&MA. Living conditions in both cities are modern, though the infrastructure is underdeveloped in one of the cities. They are both rich in history and culture and provide many recreational resources.

Language Expectations:

Language is an essential part of ministry. Knowledge of Arabic is helpful but not required for this region. The applicant(s) would be required to complete a survival course in Arabic, but the national workers are able to converse in English, so there is no need to be fluent.

Health Considerations:

Health care in this country is considered very good, and doctors are generally well-trained. Emergency services are readily available. Health care in the Palestinian Authority is generally considered poor. Emergency services are available, but it is highly advisable to be treated in Israel if possible. Most medications are readily available.

Expectations for Spouse:

Spousal roles vary based on the spouse’s gifts, training, and abilities as well as the needs of the team. It is expected that both spouses will be meaningfully involved in meeting ministry objectives depending on the nature of family roles, children, etc.

Children’s Educational Plan and Options:

There are a variety of educational options for families with younger children, including homeschooling. For a family with older children, an educational plan will need to be discussed and implemented.

Compensation Package

The successful applicant(s) will receive a full compensation package with the expectation that, once appointed, efforts will be made to raise a portion of support costs through the applicant’s network of friends, family, local church, or other resources. Information on support costs will be made available upon application. Training and/or coaching in fundraising is available.

Important Clarification

Applicant(s) should be aware that serving in the international world often requires a higher degree of grace and flexibility. For example, overseas teams can be suddenly and unexpectedly impacted by illness, government decisions, financial realities, team changes, or other factors beyond the team’s control. The challenge for applicants is that these factors can sometimes necessitate the sudden redefining of a position, which may take place before, during, or after the application/interview process has begun or is completed.
