The Carr Fire near Redding, California is now the sixth most destructive fire in Californian history. The flames have destroyed more than 220,000 acres and more than 1,000 homes.
The devastation hits close to home for the Alliance family as the Carr Fire came within 10 miles of Simpson University. The school served as both an evacuation center and a donation center, while at the same time preparing for students to arrive. Local Alliance churches too are doing everything they can to serve their community as the fire still rages on.
In response to the disaster, CAMA will partner with the Alliance Central Pacific District and local churches in Redding to coordinate relief and recovery efforts. We are aware of several families within the Alliance who lost their homes, but also know many neighbors have learned the same devastating news. Together we can join hands with this community as they enter the difficult months ahead.
By giving to the CAMA Disaster Relief Fund, you can directly partner with Alliance churches in Redding and nearby areas as they come around Carr Fire victims.
Thank you for your prayers and generosity.
